Joe Kramer – Team Captain

After picking up writing gigs for SB Nation’s Against All Enemies and The Hockey Writers, I realized there was almost no widespread coverage of ACHA hockey let alone for coverage for the Army West Point Club Hockey team – I started BKR to change that.

I achieved a lifelong dream when I entered West Point in 2012. I started off with company G4, before scrambling into D3 with fellow bendies James Morsch (’16) and Bill Lesmeister (’14). I stumbled across the club team hockey by accident, thinking that I was done with competitive hockey up to that point. I graduated in 2016 as an Ordnance officer with a degree in German and Russian Language.

After being flagged for hearing loss, I was honorably discharged from the Army in 2018, and currently live in Colorado with my wife, Liz, and our three kids.
