The Colorado State Rams ACHA D2 team takes to the ice this Saturday for more Big Mountain Hockey Conference action. The Rams will welcome the visiting University of Northern Colorado Bears to their home ice at EPIC in Fort Collins.
UNC finished in second place in the BMHC regular season, behind MSU-Denver. The Bears have picked up right where they left off, and opened their season with a win over the University of Colorado last weekend. UNC will face the DU Pioneers at home Friday night.
The Rams were winless against UNC during the 2018-19 season, and actually were more competitive on the road, falling to the Bears 3-2 on a late goal in the third at UNC’s rink. Saturday night will prove a tough test for head coach Nate Morris and the Rams, but it will also be a great measure of where CSU may stack up in the BMHC mix.
The Bears are a fast and physical team, so it will be imperative for CSU to match their speed and intensity while also remaining disciplined. This will certainly be a game where the team that makes the least amount of mistakes will almost certainly win. With any luck, the Rams will be the more well-rested team as this match-up will be their only game of the weekend.
The puck drops at 7:15pm on the EPIC-Blue sheet in Fort Collins.
