The Army ACHA D2 team traveled down to New Jersey this past weekend for contests against Rider University and The College of New Jersey.
Despite a valiant effort both Friday and Saturday, the Black Knights were defeated in both contests. On Friday night, Army managed to keep things at 1-1 through the first period. Rider put up two more goals to go up 3-1 before burying an empty netter in the waning minutes of the third period to end the game 4-1.
On Saturday, Army took on TCNJ in a midday matchup following Army Football’s comfortable win over Morgan State. Unfortunately, the football team’s club hockey brethren were not met with the same good fortune. The Club Hockey team put up a good fight against TCNJ, trailing 5-3 in the final minutes of the game.
For the second game in a row, the Black Knights ceded an empty netter and ended the game, 6-3. Army is currently sporting a 0-3 record through two weeks of play, but they’ll have another crack at the win column this upcoming weekend with a pair of games at Siena University.
Stay tuned this week for a preview of those games!
