Army ACHA D2 Weekend Preview: CIC Tournament

The Black Knights have descended upon Annapolis in hopes of securing two stars, and bragging rights as the inaugural CIC champions of service academy hockey. Army takes on Air Force’s ACHA D3 squad who stunned fans last night with a commanding 5-1 win over Navy. The Falcons out-shot the Midshipmen 59-13.

Army has said they don’t plan to take Air Force lightly, but hopefully last night’s game will slow the Falcons down in their match-up with the Black Knights. Army is eager to post a couple more wins this weekend, and the prospect of back-to-back service academy rival games only adds to the excitement.

For those interested in catching today’s action, the Naval Academy is streaming all of the CIC Tournament games on their YouTube channel. Army and Air Force face-off at 11am ET.

Army will resume their quest for CIC glory on Sunday against Navy. Army leads the overall series against Navy’s D2 squad, 2-1. The Midshipmen claimed a 2-1 victory over Army last season the morning after the Black Knights were defeated by Navy’s D1 team. Army is out for revenge, and what better place to exact it!?

The 2019 Army/Navy game, and culminating contest of the CIC Tournament will begin at 1:30pm ET on Sunday.
